As India approaches its centenary of independence in 2047, the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) emerges as a defining goal. Central to this transformation is academia, which acts as a cornerstone for intellectual, social, and economic growth. Higher education institutions play a pivotal role in fostering innovation, social equity, and global competitiveness. This paper explores the contributions of higher education institutions in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with a particular focus on IIS (Deemed to be University), highlighting how this institution bridge tradition and modernity. By empowering minds and shaping futures, they serve as models of academic excellence and societal change.
The research examines various transformative initiatives undertaken by academia to align with national goals, including innovation in education, research, and community engagement. It also addresses challenges such as improving access to quality education, reducing inequalities, and promoting sustainable development. The study proposes strategies for fostering inclusivity and building industry-academia collaborations to ensure a holistic approach to development. Ultimately, the paper underscores the critical role of higher education institutions in realizing the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, positioning India as a global leader in knowledge, innovation, and social progress.
