As online shopping grows, so do the risks related to online security and performance issues. Both businesses and customers face dangers like fraud, data leaks, and theft, while online platforms struggle with problems like slow loading times, limited ability to grow, and database shortcomings. This paper looks into the changing world of online security and privacy, focusing on weaknesses in payment systems, phishing scams, and how AI and machine learning can help detect fraud. With AI-based security methods, using both supervised and unsupervised learning, it's possible to spot unusual activity in real-time and take steps to prevent threats before they escalate. The discussion also includes effective practices like one-time passwords (OTP), encryption, firewalls, and various authentication measures to ensure safe transactions.
The paper goes further to address the importance of improving the performance of e-commerce through methods such as content delivery networks (CDNs), cloud solutions for scalability, and smart database management. It also suggests areas for future research, like new developments in post-quantum cryptography, security for IoT devices, blockchain use, and behavioural analytics for fraud detection. By making the most of AI-driven fraud prevention, techniques that protect privacy, and strong security systems, businesses can protect their online transactions and build trust with users. This research aims to help create e-commerce platforms that are secure, high-performing, and resilient, ensuring that confidentiality, integrity, and reliability are maintained in the online market.
